What sets us apart from other ranches?

We have a handful of fast side-by-side utility vehicles, and we like to chase the hogs down. We shoot hogs from the vehicles most of the time and dismount to allow for coordinated shooting when possible. Multiple hog kills per person are guaranteed. We will not stick you in a blind and walk away.

Texas is the perfect place to travel to hunt wild hogs and shoot a variety of automatic weapons. As a firearms dealer in Texas, we have the ability to offer our hunts a variety of automatic firearms to choose from.

Whether you want to shoot the classic M16 / M4, tripod-mounted M16, AK-47, H&K, or a variety of other machine guns, this will be a hunting adventure you will not forget!

Looking for something with a little more BOOM than our machine guns. We have the semi-auto Barrett 82A1 chambered in .50 BMG. This firearm and cartridge are virtually unmatched in every category.

Hunting Hogs from Side by Side in Texas

Using atvs to hunt hogs is a great way to get around the ranch and target wild pigs. We offer a variety of different options for this kind of hunt and can accommodate hunters of all abilities.

Central Texas Hog Hunts

Conveniently situated between Houston & DFW, the ranch is located near the Trinity River and is typical river bottom land. Two decades ago, we specifically manicured the land for wild boar hunting. The ranch has dense timber and thick underbrush. We left most of this in place but cut trails and clearings, allowing the pigs a place to hide & us a place to chase them. The result is an action-packed wild pig hunt where chasing and shooting are the name of the game. We are partial to military-style rifles and like to let the bullets fly. We don’t stop shooting until the pig stops moving! We take safety seriously and expect hunters to do the same. We coordinate the hunt by keeping everyone with guides and our guides in constant radio contact. All hunts occur in daylight hours and generally span from morning to mid-afternoon.

A. At 4J Ranch, we’ve maintained a near 100% success rate for our hog hunters. Most hunters will leave the ranch with their full three-hog limit, and it’s extremely rare for hunters to go home without multiple hogs.

This is hunting, so conditions do dictate success rates, but our experienced guides, proven hunting areas, and abundance of wild hogs make 4J Ranch one of the most successful hog hunting destinations in Texas.

A. Hog hunting in Texas is great 7 days a week, all year long.

Summer (June–August) is the slow season due to the heat.

Fall and Winter (October–March) are the most popular and comfortable times to hunt.

We do rent guns of all kinds, and many of our packages include gun rental. We can accommodate any number of hunters needing to rent guns. We have a variety of weapons, but the go-to is high-end AR-15s and their fully automatic big brother, the M16. The cost is $100 per shooter. See our Gun Rental page.
